Horner reveals when Red Bull will bring ‘big' upgrades as he warns about Ferrari and Mercedes breaching cost cap

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is continuing his push for an increase in spending allowance for the teams as inflation continues to rise. The teams have been given $140 million to work with this season as part of a new set of technical regulations but, in part due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, energy bills have soared in recent months. It is now a lot more expensive to run wind tunnels to help with development, and Mercedes’ energy bill in Brackley has risen by £4 million this season.
