Hamilton excluded from qualifying in Brazil

Lewis Hamilton Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has been excluded from qualifying for the Formula 1 Sao Paulo Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver set the fastest time on Friday before a DRS issue was discovered on his W12. The opening on Hamilton’s rear wing was found to open more than the permissible 85mm during post-qualifying scrutineering, and was subsequently referred to the stewards. An initial hearing on Friday evening was unable to resolve the matter, with the wing impounded overnight ahead of another hearing on Saturday morning.
