Alonso latest driver to take grid penalty at United States GP

Article To news overview © Alpine Fernando Alonso will join Sebastian Vettel and George Russell at the back of the grid for the United States Grand Prix after taking on a new power unit. The move was confirmed by the FIA during Saturday's FP3 session, with Alpine opting to change the entire power unit, which includes the ICE, MGU-H, MGU-K, Turbocharger, Energy Store, Control Electronics and Exhaust System. As a result, Alonso will start Sunday's race at the Circuit of the Americas at the back of the grid with Vettel and Russell, who took new engines this weekend. Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas was also fitted with a sixth new Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) of the season, meaning he will drop...
