Perez stays next to Verstappen in 2022: "Great opportunity for me"
Sergio Perez has extended his contract with Red Bull Racing. The Mexican is naturally delighted with the opportunity and confidence he's been given by the Austrian racing team and is determined to show more of himself in the coming period. Since the departure of Daniel Ricciardo at the end of 2018, Red Bull Racing has been searching for the ideal teammate alongside Max Verstappen. Pierre Gasly and Alexander Albon were deemed too light, but with Perez's experience more had to be possible. The Mexican won a race in Azerbaijan but did not always convince in 2021.
