Monger takes incredible maiden single-seater victory

Billy Monger secured his maiden race victory in single-seaters, and first since suffering life-changing injuries in 2017 as he came from the back of the field to win EuroFormula Open's Pau Grand Prix. A gamble on wet-weather tyres made the difference for Monger in France, as he survived a late safety car to take a memorable win. Monger and his Carlin team opted to ditch slicks on the warm-up lap as rain began to fall, dropping the Briton from 11th on the grid to the back of the field.
