Mazepin handed Mercedes test run in Spain

Former Force India development driver Nikita Mazepin will step up to Mercedes later this week when he tests the W10 at the post-Spanish GP test. According to Motorsport.com, the Formula 2 driver will join Valtteri Bottas for the two days of testing. Mercedes have yet to confirm which driver will be in action on Tuesday or Wednesday. Mazepin's Mercedes run comes on the back of the end of his relationship with Force India, now known as Racing Point. With Lance Stroll's father Lawrence getting the nod ahead of Mazepin's father, Russian billionaire Dmitry, the driver's time at the team came to an end last year.
