Pirelli offers first look at wider tyres

– Pirelli has offered a first glimpse of what its Formula 1 tyres could look like from 2017 after presenting the wider rubber on a demo car at the Monaco Grand Prix on Saturday morning.Under new technical regulations, Pirelli will supply teams with much wider tyres next year, which it feels will reintroduced the "aggression and retro exoticism" of the 1970s and 1980s.Pirelli's new tyres, modified to cope with bigger aerodynamic loads, will be 305mm wide at the front, an increase from 245mm, and 405mm wide at the rear, an increase from 325mm.Formula 1 is still working towards a gain of up to five seconds per lap.
