Modified ‘Halo' the preferred option for 2017

Monaco Grand Prix – The FIA are intending to introduce an adapted version of the ‘Halo' device trialled by Ferrari in pre-season testing. Discussions about which cockpit protection system will be introduced for 2017 remain ongoing, with two different systems having already been tested by different teams. The sport is fully intent on introducing some form of protection, written into the technical regulations, with effect from the start of next season, but is yet to sign off on which form this will take.
