Daniel Ricciardo rolls out in FP1 with ‘Aeroscreen'

Russian Grand Prix – Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo set out on the Sochi Autodrom, with an unusual looking device attached to his car. The RB12 was fitted out with an ‘Aeroscreen' – a design the team have come up with as one of the possible solutions for the cockpit protection designs the FIA wish to introduce as part of the 2017 regulations. Arriving in Russia this weekend, the team brought a physical copy of their design and sent Ricciardo out on track during FP1 with it fitted. He completed just one lap with it fitted, but that was enough time to give the team a better idea of the pros and cons of the design – an obvious flaw being visibility being more easily...
