Red Bull to trial ‘Aeroscreen' during Russian FP1

Russian Grand Prix – Red Bull Racing will trial an alternative solution to the cockpit protection system tested by Ferrari during the pre-season. Cockpit protection is very much on the mind of the FIA ahead of the 2017, with the governing body intent on introducing some sort of driver head protection system next year. A viable solution has yet to be found, however, with Ferrari trying out a ‘Halo' system during pre-season testing in Barcelona. Kimi Raikkonen, who drove the car on that occasion, said it made very little difference to the driver's visibility, but the Halo drew criticism due to it being viewed as unsightly.
