+ Lewis Hamilton eased to an inaugural Russian Grand Prix win as Mercedes won its first ever constructors’ championship. Hamilton, starting from pole, controlled what was a processional first race at the Sochi Autodrom, leading throughout after an early error by Nico Rosberg saw the German forced to drop to the back of the pack following a tyre change. Rosberg recovered through the field to finish a distant second, ahead of Valtteri Bottas, third for Williams. As the light went out to signal the start of the inaugural Russian Grand Prix the two Mercedes got away cleanly, with Rosberg challenging for the lead into Turn 2, only to lockup heavily and run wide.
