F1 2013 – Nigel Stepney claims 2007 Ferrari was illegal

Former Ferrari team member Nigel Stepney has finally broken silence on the spy-gate scandal which cost him his job and McLaren a record $100 million dollar fine.Stepney believes that the Ferrari used at the 2007 Australian grand prix was in fact illegal, he told race car engineering that he discussed the rear wing and moveable floor of the 2007 Ferrari with Mike Coughlan.The floor was found to be illegal but McLaren did not protest it, A letter from Ron Dennis read “We chose not to protest the result of the Australian Grand Prix even though it seems clear that Ferrari had an illegal competitive advantage.”
