Pirelli: Teams ready for softer tyres in '13

Pirelli will once again soften its compounds for 2013 in a bid to repeat the unpredictability of the last season which saw seven different winners in the opening seven races. Whilst some have called for the tyre supplier to keep its compounds similar to their current spec, Pirelli believe the teams are ready for a new challenge having overcome the early struggles. "During 2012, more or less all the teams learned much better how to use our tyres," Maurizio Boicchi, chief technical officer at Pirelli, told Autosport.
